2017 Pinot Noir Mendocino Co  - Pairing for Friday March 5th - "Surf, Turf & Smurf" Assorted Sliders with Mac 'n Cheese

A one time blend in between our 2016 and 2018 Anderson Valley offerings.   This Pinot Noir is ready to drink with tons of red and black fruits, spice box, forest floor, a supple palate, and a long, smooth finish.    Fashauer 20%, Signal Ridge 6.66%, Romani 26.66%, Mariah 13.33%, Arthur Rue 6.66%, Docker Hill 26.66%.   *An Ali favorite*



2013 Syrah 'Vivio Vyd' Bennett Valley  - Pairing for Friday March 12th - Southern Style Brisket, Cole Slaw, Easy Fries & Butter Braised Veggies

Aged in 100% Neutral French oak.  20% Whole cluster fermentation.  The nose is juicy, black plum, peppercorn, with carpaccio and tiger-lily (spicy, sweet).  Plush velvety tannins, bright acidity, satsuma plum.  On the palate is leather, baking spice, wet slate, cigar box.  The finish is savory with more carpaccio.  

The Bennett Valley is located in southern Sonoma and is known for cool-climate Pinot Noir and Syrah.   Ali and Andy made friends with Joe Vivio who owns the namesake vineyard, back in 2013.  The Syrah vines are planted on a bed of red, volcanic soil and the site is the last to warm up and the first to cool down. 


2014 Dry Riesling 'Greenwood Ridge Vyds' - Pairing for Friday March 19th - Shrimp Quesadillas with Ceviche & Guacamole

Rieslings are the darling wine of sommeliers worldwide because of the backbone of acidity they possess and the cacophony of fruit aromatics and flavors that make them adaptable to so many types of dishes.   Pair with apples, Asian food, cheeses especially brie, CHOUCROUTE, roasted duck, summer salads, baked ham, roasted pork, poached salmon, SCALLOPS, slightly spicy dishes, THAI FOOD, turkey, the possibilities are endless! 

Greenwood Ridge Vineyards are certified organic. It occupies space in both Mendocino AVA and Anderson Valley AVA. 1300 ft overlooking the pacific ocean, lots of moisture.   


2017 Chardonnay 'Mariah Vyd', Mendocino Ridge - Pairing for Friday March 26th - Turkey Meatloaf with Garlic Smashed Potatoes, Bacon Bleu Cheese Wedge Salad

The fruit here shines with peach, red apple, apricot, and a tangerine spice reminiscent of the great Meursault in Burgundy.  Fruity, yet deliciously dry, this will pair with fish, poultry, Boeuf de Bourgogne, escargot, and pastas with cream.

Fermented and aged in thrice used 400 gallon foudre.  No new oak.  Whole cluster pressed, native yeast, native malo.  Aged on the lees for nine months.
